The Boston Marathon - deep fields, fast times Four other women ran sub-2:19, an incredible result. The women's race was much more competitive as a group of five women ran quickly together for most of the race, with Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands winning in 2:18:33.
In the men's race, Kelvin Kiptum ran away from all other runners to win by nearly three minutes as he ran the second fastest marathon ever run and a new course record in London when he finished in 2:01:25. Two different races took place at the 2023 London Marathon.
